Madeline Johnson

The first time I tried out for the tennis team at school was my sophomore year. With hard work, I was able to make the varsity team. Being on this team gives me a chance to be physically active, spend time with my friends, and meet new people. During my sophomore year I placed in third for a local tournament with my doubles partner. By the end of the season, I was able to win the "Rookie of the Year" award.

• Since I was about 13 years old, I have been babysitting for family and family friends. I enjoy spending time with younger children because this time acts as a break from real life. (2016-present).

• Starting in my freshman year of high school, I began working for my aunt who is a clinical psychologist. As a part of my work I score many different kinds of psychological tests that are done by patients. Along with this, I do some typical office work (e.g. stapling and filing) to make things run smoothly. (2017- present).

The Health Organization Students of America has been helpful in giving me a chance to explore possible career options for my future. While learning, participating in competition, and spending time with friends, I have enjoyed this well-rounded club.

I have been painting since I was in the third grade. Along with art classes through school, I have taken many other classes on my own time. Throughout my years of experience, I have been able to improve upon all of my art skills and make myself happy.

During my sophomore year, I was a part of putting together the school's first career club. Being a part of this club allows me to help put together different career events that students can come to in order to explore possible career choices. 

Being a part of the National Honors Society has given me a chance to help the community around me. I have helped organize and run events in my high school as well as outside of school.
